Cure 4 The Kids Foundation's First-Ever Pediatric Patient On-Campus Classroom
and Part of The Andre Agassi Foundation
for Education Learning Center
The mission of Janie's Classroom is to provide quality academic services to all patients in need of educational support while being committed to the overall physical, psychological, social, and spiritual well being of the student patient.
Janie's Classroom is a supplemental education center established in honor of Janie Bordinhao, a Las Vegas native, proud CCSD teacher, and angel cancer warrior. This amazing program is supported by the Andre Agassi Foundation for Education and located within the Cure 4 The Kids treatment facility. Our center is unique in that we have formed a partnership with the Clark County School District which has provided a licensed educator to operate the classroom and assist our students while they are undergoing treatment for a cancer diagnosis. We understand that while our students are undergoing treatment, most are immuno-compromised and unable to attend school in a regular face-to-face setting. Our goal in Janie's Classroom is to ensure our students receive the same supports and guidance as their non-compromised peers, all within the safety and security of the clinic setting. Janie's Classroom and Cure 4 The Kids stand ready to be counted on to do the right thing for the health and highest interest of our patients, our team, and for the organization.
What Our Families Think
Janie's classroom is an incredible resource for families dealing with a diagnosis at Cure 4 The Kids Foundation. From the kid friendly environment itself to the incredible teacher in Mrs. Morris, I can't think of a better combination to help fill the significant educational void created when your child is diagnosed. As a long time educator and parent to a daughter treated at Cure 4 The Kids Foundation, I am honored to be part of this project and look forward to experiencing this service with my own family.
